UTAH EQUINE PROGRAMS
is located in Logan, Utah, and offers a B.S. in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences with an Equine Science and Management Emphasis. A Minor in Equine Management is also available. NEW: Utah State has developed a professional Doctoral (DVM) program in conjunction with the Washington State College of Veterinary Medicine. Students would study the last two years in Washington State; more information about the College of Veterinary Medicine is available under the Washington State listings. Undergraduate course work includes: Fundamentals of Equine Science and Management, Riding Fundamentals (Wetsern and Hunt Seat), Horse Production, Riding Fundamentals II (Western), Riding Fundamentals II (English), Equine Nutrition, Equine Behavior and Training, Horse Management, Farrier Science (Basic Trimming and Shoeing), Advanced Horse Handling, Equine Evaluation, Teaching and Leadership, Horse Health Care, and Equine Internships. As a land grant university, Utah State is base for the USDA Extension 4-H Program. The University has a number of helpful Equine Publications available at its

The University also provides a number of resources available in the
Utah 4-H Horse Program.
The University is developing a new Equine Center including arenas, barns, and classrooms. This will be a major upgrade to the University's facilities. See the Architectural Renderings. Southern Utah University is located in Cedar City, Utah, and offers an A.A.S. in Equine Studies. Course work includes: Principles of Animal Science, Horse Production Practices, Agribusiness Management, Horse Science and Industry, Genetics and Improvement, Equine Nutrition and Feed, Horsemanhip (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced), and an Equine Practicuum. Weber State University is located in Ogden, Utah. The University does not have an equine degree program, but does offer a competitive Rodeo Team. Utah Valley University is located in Orem, Utah. The University does not have an equine degree program, but does offer a Rodeo Club.
